Sandro Rüegg is Entrepreneur and Head of Business Development at SQUARE at the University of St. Gallen (HSG). He works at the intersection of education, industry and water technology. At SQUARE, the University of St. Gallen’s platform for interdisciplinary learning and dialogue, he leads Business Development and designs formats that connect academia, business and society around concrete challenges and new technologies. As co-founder and CTO of CESA Watertech, he drives the development and implementation of water treatment solutions for industrial and municipal clients worldwide, with a focus on future-ready engineering and strong, long-term partnerships. He has served for more than ten years in the Swiss militia army and holds the rank of Captain, having commanded a company of sniper and mortar infantry.
