Alexander is a designer and computational researcher specializing in architectural additive manufacturing, focusing on tools that promote democratization and climate-resilient housing. He is a PhD candidate at MIT’s Design and Computation Group, leading the Programmable MUD project, and is cofounder of FORMA Systems, which develops low-carbon construction products, while also running his consulting firm, Element. With a background in architecture from UC Berkeley and experience spanning digital fabrication, robotics, and citizen science, he combines material science, design, and structural optimization in innovative, hands-on projects.
